If we get it wrong, we fix it. In public.
Every number, quote, and date on this site links to an original public document, a letter, a court docket, the city's own meeting packets and broadcasts. That's the whole point: you don't have to trust us, you can check us.
When we find an error, or you do, we correct it and note the correction here. Spot something wrong? Email thereal@theresagarza.com with the claim and the document that contradicts it.
Corrections log
Sept. 29, 2026
- Corrected the date of the County Executive's letter from March 2026 to April 2026 (the letter's own deadlines, April 17, 19, and 23, establish the date).
- Corrected the length of her county tenure from five months to six (October 2025 to April 2026).
- Reattributed two quotes in the Dobbs Tire case file to the applicant's permit application; city staff's actual recommendation was “Approval with Conditions.”
- Corrected the date of the Planning & Zoning Commission's initial denial recommendation to May 21, 2026 (5–2), per the minutes published in the July 2 P&Z packet.
- Removed attendance figures we could not verify against published minutes, and replaced them with a meeting-by-meeting record drawn from the city's own packets.
- Clarified that the April 14, 2026 vote on Bill 6707-26 adopted the ordinance convening the Board of Impeachment; the removal vote itself occurs at the board's hearing.
